Formatting Text

Introduction

Publicon includes many commands for word processing and formatting.

You can set the following options from the Format RightTriangle Text submenu.

FilledVerySmallSquare Font

FilledVerySmallSquare Face

FilledVerySmallSquare Size

FilledVerySmallSquare Color

FilledVerySmallSquare Case

You can also add superscripts and subscripts or access the Typesetting palette from this submenu.

You can set the following options from the Format RightTriangle Cell submenu.

FilledVerySmallSquare Text alignment

FilledVerySmallSquare Text justification

FilledVerySmallSquare Cell dingbats

FilledVerySmallSquare Background color

FilledVerySmallSquare Horizontal lines

To change the appearance of a cell:

1. Select the cell bracket.

2. Choose the desired option from the Format RightTriangle Cell menu, such as the background color.

To spell check a notebook:

1. Choose Edit RightTriangle Check Spelling.

2. Publicon begins spell checking the notebook at the position of the cursor. At any misspelled or unknown word, Publicon highlights the word and recommends a replacement.

Mixing formulas and text

To embed a formula in a text cell:

1. Place the cursor in the text cell where you want to enter the formula.

2. Enter the formula using the Typesetting palette or by using keyboard shortcuts.

Inline cells

You can copy and paste entire cells into other cells. For example, you can include typeset formulas from input cells or embed graphics in a text cell.

To paste one cell inside another:

1. Select the cell bracket.

2. Choose Edit RightTriangle Copy.

3. Position the cursor or select some text.

4. Choose Edit RightTriangle Paste.
