How to create a new matrix

Choose Create Table/Matrix/Palette from the Input menu.

How to fill in placeholders

Suppose the entry in the top-left position is selected.



Type an entry and select the next placeholder with the TabKey key; repeat. (You can select placeholders in the opposite direction with ShiftKeySkeletonIndicatorTabKey.)

Type a, press TabKey

Type b, press TabKey

Type c, press TabKey

Press the Control key and the Space bar at the same time to get out of the GridBox.

Type d, press ControlKeyKeyBarSpaceKey

Move the insertion point to get out of the matrix.

How to add a new column

Place the insertion point to the right of any entry; here the insertion point is to the right of the entry at the top-left.

Press the Control and Comma keys at the same time. A column of placeholders will appear, with the top one selected.

Press ControlKeyLeftModified, RightModified

How to add a new row

Place the insertion point to the right of any entry; here the insertion point is to the right of the entry at the top-left.

Press the Control and Return keys at the same time. A row of placeholders will appear, with the first one selected.
